Dassault Sys & IBM Comple Integration of IBM PLM

Dassault Q4 Revenue Down 12% to $462M with $105M Profit
February 11, 2010 - PLM provider Dassault Systèmes ended its fiscal year on a low note, announcing on Thursday that sales were down 6% year-over-year. For the year ended Dec. 31, 2009, Dassault reported sales of € 1.25 billion compared with € 1.33 billion in 2008. Net income of € 170 million was down 15% from € 200 million the prior year.

Alibre Cuts Price to Entire Line
Feb 01, 2010 - RICHARDSON, TX, Alibre, Inc. announced price cuts to its line of 3D CAD software. Alibre develops and markets Alibre Design, a powerful parametric 3D/2D design application. The entry level package, Alibre Design Standard, is now $97 (down from $1000) and includes full 3D design and associative 2D drawings, along with Alibre Translate (formerly $499), an import/export suite that supports Solidworks, Pro/Engineer, Autodesk Inventor, SolidEdge, Catia, and Parasolid formats in addition to all neutral CAD formats.

CATIA-Designed Vehicles Take Over the Road
January 12, 2010 - AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Dassault Sys announced that CATIA was used in the development of nearly 80 percent of the production and concept vehicles making their world debut at the 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Additionally, CATIA was utilized in the design of the 2010 North American Car of the Year and Truck of the Year.

Autodesk and SolidWorks Settle Lawsuit
January 5, 2010 - SAN FRANCISCO - Autodesk and Dassault Sys-SolidWorks agreed to settle a lawsuit pending in the U.S. District Court. The lawsuit - Autodesk’s allegations included that SolidWorks inappropriately used Autodesk’s trademarks AutoCAD® and DWG™. SolidWorks asserted counterclaims against Autodesk. They resolved the matter and agreed to dismiss all claims and have entered into a confidential settlement agreement.
